In August, we will hold a yodeling family concert in Iwamizawa, Hokkaido.
The concert will feature yodeling by Kitagawa Sakura , a cowbell attached to the neck of a cow, a long instrument called “Alphorn”, a spoon as an instrument, “Lefi”, and much more! Reffi” and many more!
Bring two spoons for curry and join us!
We will also have a recorded broadcast of the concert at a later date! This time, it will be subtitled in English so that people from overseas can enjoy it too!

★Jodel Kitagawa Sakura and Edelweiss Musikanten
Formed in 1994, the professional orchestra performs folk music from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. They have performed at many hall concerts, various events, Oktoberfests, and many other occasions. They have performed at the German Festival organized by the German Embassy in Tokyo every year since 2011, and are often requested by German companies to perform at parties and other events.
Yodel singer, member of Nikikikai Opera, graduate of Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Voice.
In 2008, she was certified as the highest class 1 (Erste class) at the Swiss Federal Yodel Fest, and since then, she has been certified multiple times until 2018.
In 2009, she published the first Japanese CD of Swiss yodeling in Switzerland, which became a hot topic in the local media.
In 2011, she was the first Asian yodel singer to guest perform at the 6500-person Hofbräuhaus Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, and has participated for three consecutive years. She has also appeared on German TV ZDF.
In Japan, she has appeared on “Ponkickies,” “NHK E-television Tenzai Terebikun YOU Yama no Moto Mon⛰ no Irai,” “NHK E-television Musica Piccolino,” “NHK E-television R no Law,” “TBS Hanamaru Market,” “TBS Sekai Fushigi Hakken,” “TBS Job Tune,” and many other media. She has appeared in numerous media programs, as well as in Yamaha Music Planning’s Hall Family Concerts, National Hall Concerts, etc.
★Iwamizawa Boys and Girls Choir
The Iwamizawa Boys and Girls Chorus has been active since 2007, mainly consisting of students of Hinode Elementary School in Iwamizawa City.
They have visited the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and visited facilities for the elderly. They have also performed in the children’s musical “Pinocchio”.
