Nago Cherry Blossom Festival 2017

One of the highlights of the festival is the view of beautiful cherry blossoms with the azure East China Sea in the background, which you can see from the viewing platform at the top of the ruins. Located in Nago Central Park is a two-kilometer walk lined with cherry trees covered with rose-colored petals. Scheduled during the festival are a spectacular procession of nearly 100 female hanagasa (flower hat) dance performers dressed in traditional bingata costumes, eisa shows, a folk song contest featuring “Futami Jowa,” a popular Okinawan folk song that has long been played and sung by the Nago locals, and more.
