Little Chambers of Ennui: Alphonse Mucha and Aquirax Uno

In the fin-de-siècle era in which Mucha flourished, Parisian society was marked by opulence, but also by decadence. This exhibition focuses on that darker underbelly, at times seen and at other times unseen—hidden—in the magnificence of Mucha’s works. The exhibition also includes a special exhibit of pieces by the Japanese illustrator Aquirax Uno, who is known for his images of women and fantastical worlds, and takes a closer look at the wonderful ennui that both Mucha and Uno brought to their art.
