Cultivating new possibilities in the presentation of Japanese animation, TAKAHATA Isao (1935–2018) influenced many animation directors. This exhibition will introduce Takahata’s conviction for directing, which can be seen in Grave of the Fireflies, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and his other works, through production notebooks, storyboards, original paintings, animation cels, movies and other materials.
