A Citywide Illumination Event Transforming Osaka into a Glowing Winter Wonderland
“Osaka Festival of Lights 2025” is a large-scale illumination and light art event that brightens the heart of Osaka and its surrounding areas during the winter season. Centered around the iconic Midosuji Illumination, the festival features artistic lighting displays in the Nakanoshima area and additional programs held throughout Osaka Prefecture.
Main Programs
■ Midosuji Illumination
A grand illumination stretching roughly 4 km along Osaka’s main boulevard, Midosuji. Different zones shine in varying colors, creating one of the city’s most iconic winter nightscapes.
■ OSAKA Hikari no Renaissance 2025
An artistic illumination program set around Nakanoshima Park and Osaka City Hall. Visitors can enjoy light tunnels, riverside lighting displays, architectural light art, and immersive visual installations.
■ Area Programs
Various districts across Osaka Prefecture participate with their own local illuminations and events, allowing visitors to explore the city through multiple “light routes.”
■ Special Expo Illumination (Planned)
Special lighting displays inspired by the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 will add a futuristic touch to the festival.
