Sounds, colors, mankind and nature—there are many kinds of harmony in the world around us, they give us comfort and are key to making the world a better place. Harmony is also the key concept behind this exhibition, centered as it is on Mucha’s painting Harmony (1908), a large oil painting that is the pride of our collection, alongside many of our carefully selected pieces to explore their shared motifs and compositional styles. We also hope to shed some light on the messages and ideas Mucha tried to convey with his art, and that our attempt to do so proves an opportunity to uncover another, new side to Mucha as an artist.
