“Chibi Maruko-chan,” which was serialized in the girls’ manga magazine “Ribon” (Shueisha) in 1986, began broadcasting anime in 1990 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. It depicts the bright and humorous daily life of Maru-chan and her friends, and the living room on Sunday evening, which is the broadcast time, is filled with laughter.
In 1990, the ending song “Odoru Pompokorin” recorded million sales and won the Japan Record Awards and recorded high audience rating of 39.9% in the anime category (based on measurements since 1977 / Kanto area / Video Research survey), and it became a national animation.
At the main store, about 350 items such as cels, sketches, storyboards, and videos will be exhibited to unravel the back side of animation production. In addition, exhibition of the screenplay handwritten by Momoko Sakura, character setting materials, private works, etc., will approach the feelings for animation and daily life.
