One Hundred Famous Views of Edo ~Hiroshige’s Last Sights of Edo~

Utagawa Hiroshige, widely known as a Meisho-eshi, spent most of his lifetime depicting his hometown, Edo. This exhibition will introduce one of Hiroshige’s masterpieces created in his later years, “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo”. All 120 pieces will be displayed in three separate periods with each period displaying approximately 40 of his works. The pieces will be separated by its depicted area, and some of the pieces will also have side-to-side comparisons with “Picture of Souvenirs from Edo”, which is known to be the original designs for “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo” and Edo Meisho-e which Hiroshige depicted in his earlier years. Visit all three periods and enjoy the depths of Hiroshige’s “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo”.
