The Tadami Furusato Snow Festival is a long-established winter celebration held each February in Tadami Town, Fukushima Prefecture. Snow sculptures and illuminated displays transform the area around JR Tadami Station, creating a peaceful and atmospheric winter setting.
Many editions of the festival include snow sculptures, prayer fireworks, and various stage performances, offering visitors a chance to experience the charm of Japan’s snow country.
The venue features the Yukinco Market, where local shops and volunteer groups sell regional dishes and specialty products. Partner communities such as Kashiwa in Chiba Prefecture and Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture also take part, bringing local items and well-known foods. Around 10 to 20 stalls line the festival grounds, allowing visitors to enjoy regional flavors alongside stage events and evening fireworks.
Blending snow artistry, local culture, and warm hospitality, the festival remains one of Tadami’s signature winter events.
