We’ve created a VR+AR map of Tokyo’s historic Minato Ward!
We’ll deliver an immersive experience of 16 carefully selected hidden spots in Minato Ward.
Scheduled for release in February 2026!
Prior to the release, we’re accepting applications for the “Walking Model Course Unveiling Event,” where participants can take a stroll around the famous spots featured on the VR+AR MAP.This time, we’ll be visiting three locations around Azabu! We’ll also be visiting famous spots that weren’t included in the VR+AR MAP.
Experience Japan’s past in Minato Ward with history buff Masaya as your guide.
The first unveiling event will follow the course below.
1. Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park ⇒ This former residence of the Nanbu clan of the Morioka domain is a Japanese garden brimming with nature.
2. Azabu Hikawa Shrine ⇒ A shrine over 1,000 years old, built during the Heian period. You might even get to see the glittering giant mikoshi!
3. Azabuyama Zenpukuji Temple ⇒ A Minato Ward tangible cultural property.Many famous people who have left their mark on Japanese history have been associated with Zenpukuji Temple.
4. Azabu-Juban Shopping Street ⇒ A shopping street that has thrived since the Edo period, where many long-established stores and new shops coexist.
5. Daihoji Temple/Daikokuzaka ⇒ A temple dedicated to Daikokuten, the god of wealth. You can hear some interesting legends about Daikoku-sama ♪
6. Tanukizaka ⇒ A slope where it is said that a raccoon dog that tricks people appears. The steep slope is a must-see!
7. Honkoji Temple ⇒ A temple whose main hall has survived all kinds of disasters for 300 years.
8. Kitsunezaka Hill – This is a hill where it is said that a fox tricked people. It is also a quiet and charming place.
9. Aiiku Hospital – One of the prestigious “Big Three Brand Name Birthing Hospitals,” used by members of the Imperial family.
*The Minato Ward Historical Walk Unveiling Event is a planned tour of 16 locations on the VR + AR MAP over several sessions.
