Tokyo German Village Winter Illumination Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary
This year marks the 20th edition of the Tokyo German Village Winter Illumination.
The theme for 2024 is “Illumination × Art.” Each area features its own light-art installation, transforming the entire venue into what feels like an open-air museum—an immersive world where visitors can step into the light itself.
Mona Lisa’s Holiday – Art is Freedom
This vibrant, cheerful art illumination blends fiction with masterpieces to express the joy of art.
Famous works such as Mona Lisa and The Scream are reimagined in a colorful, pop-art style, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere filled with SMILE and LOVE, making art feel more accessible to everyone.
A 3D illumination display visible only from the Ferris wheel
Inspired by the sea, these lanterns create a “Coral Reef Paradise” designed to perfectly match the illuminated landscape.
Clownfish, blue tangs, sea turtles—the glowing underwater world spreads out beneath you, sparking lively conversations among families as they look down from the Ferris wheel.
The Christmas Market Returns!
On the opening day, Saturday, November 8, the market will kick off with a lighting ceremony and a live performance featuring Christmas songs, starting at 17:00 with a countdown led by an MC.

Drone Show × Illumination
A spectacular show of 500 drones will light up the winter night sky.
