On the dark night of the Winter Solstice,
the prayer of sound illuminates the world.
Bach’s Goldberg Variations — Live-streamed worldwide.
There is perhaps no composer who heals the human heart and leads it to quiet joy through sound as profoundly as Johann Sebastian Bach.
Johann Sebastian Bach expressed prayer and harmony to God through music. One of his most beloved works, the Goldberg Variations, is said to have been composed at the request of Count Keyserlingk, who sought music to comfort and bring happiness to him during sleepless nights. Marked in its first edition as “for the delight of the soul,” this work soothes both performers and listeners, offering deep joy and peace.
With Bach’s music, we hope to unite hearts on the Winter Solstice. For this reason, this concert will be live-streamed simultaneously around the world.
May the prayer of sound become light, illuminating the longest and darkest night of the year, and may it bring deep rest and joy to your heart.
