Kobe City New Year Fire Review 2026

The Kobe City New Year Fire Review will once again take place at Meriken Park in 2026, marking the start of the new year with a dynamic display of firefighting skills and community spirit.
Set against the scenic Kobe waterfront, the event brings together the Fire Department, volunteer fire corps, and related organizations to promote disaster awareness and celebrate a safe beginning to the year.

The 2026 edition introduces several new features, including a live demonstration by the Junior Disaster Prevention Team, a drone-flight showcase operated by volunteer firefighters, and a taiko drum performance performed jointly by Suzurandai High School’s taiko club and Kobe firefighters.
A highlight of the program will be the symbolic “Phoenix Water Display,” representing Kobe’s recovery and continued growth.

In past editions of the event, visitors have enjoyed rescue and fire-suppression drills, performances by the Fire Department Band, exhibitions of fire engines and emergency vehicles, hands-on disaster-prevention activities, and children’s firefighter dress-up experiences. Similar interactive and educational programs are expected for 2026 as well, allowing guests to experience the work of firefighters up close.

With free admission and a blend of spectacle, learning, and family-friendly activities, the New Year Fire Review has become one of Kobe’s signature winter traditions.
