In this workshop, you make Odawara Paper Lanterns in an ancient building that used to house a fish-net wholesale store dating back to 1932.
Odawara Lanterns are accordion paper lanterns that are mentioned in the children’s song, “Osaru No Kagoya” (“monkey rickshaw”).
Draw pictures or letters on a piece of Japanese paper, and paste it onto a framework made of thin bamboo sticks. Adults can make one lantern in about 90 minutes.
Wouldn’t you like to make an original paper lantern for the memory of the travel?
