Takuma Imao (1992-) creates art works and sound performances that intervene in existing spaces and systems, temporarily transforming them. His “work with” series, in which he uses air conditioning equipment installed in buildings to create sound, is a representative work. Imao considers the entire building of the Kiyosu City Haruhi Art Museum and the existence of the museum itself as the framework for his works, sometimes boldly and sometimes modestly modifying them to bring about changes in our awareness and behavior. For Imao, a work of art is not an independent object, but rather a collaboration with everything that is happening at that place and time, including the creative process. How will the space, the artwork, and the act of viewing relate to each other at the Museum? We invite you to experience it for yourself.
